Three of my ceramic sculptures were selected:
'Two Thousand, Six Hundred and Ten'
'Two Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty Eight'
'Two Thousand and Twenty-Eight'
Named after the exact number of dots on their surfaces.
“Each year our Open Exhibition provides an exciting opportunity for amateur and professional artists to celebrate creativity side by side in the Ferens Art Gallery’s beautiful temporary exhibition spaces. The display often includes a truly diverse selection of artworks in a variety of styles and media, many of which are also for sale, allowing visitors to purchase original artworks at a range of prices.
The 2020 Open is Ferens’ 53rd annual Open Exhibition, which celebrates some of the best artistic talent in the region. The exhibition features more than 370 artworks including paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, textiles and film produced by local amateur and professional artists.
This year’s exhibited works were selected by a panel of judges consisting of visual artist Graham Dean, whose artwork is represented in the Ferens permanent collection, freelance curator Angela Kingston and Kenn Taylor, creative director at Artlink.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Friends of the Ferens and BSB Architecture.”
