Care Instructions

Tableware (mugs, bowls, plates etc.)

  • Please wash before use.
While your tableware is clean before it is packaged and sent, I cannot guarantee that the packaging I use is food safe. Best to give your items a clean first as you would with shop bought tableware.

  • Dishwasher safe, but I recommend hand-washing.
I fire my clay to maturity in my kiln so the pieces are not porous (do not absorb water).
I also only use glazes that are stable, and do not erode when in contact with food & drink, including acidic food & drink such as coffee or lemon. I test my glazes to a great length to ensure this, and I also have pieces of mine in my own kitchen and use them regularly.

Putting them through the dishwasher is completely safe (except gold lustre pieces, see below), but to lengthen the lifespan of your items I recommend hand washing in warm soapy water. (Treat them like you would your best china)

Pieces with gold lustre detail are not dishwasher safe.
The gold detail on my ceramics is literally gold metal. Washing these items regularly in the dishwasher will cause them to lose their shiny quality and go dull.

  • Not suitable for microwave use.
While I’m fairly sure items without gold lustre are microwave safe, I advise against it. I cannot be completely certain that my glazes are safe under microwave conditions.
Items with gold lustre detail must not be microwaved. The gold detail is literally gold metal and will cause your items to spark.
